The work we do is essential in order to help youth live healthy lives and make their families healthy. We believe that everyone deserves access to affordable pregnancy and mental health services, regardless of their ability to pay. Why we need your help
Birth Workers need additional training and certification…
Our team of birth workers includes labor and postpartum doulas, educators, and lactation specialists. The amount of dedication and support they offer our youth is invaluable. With your help, we can provide additional training and education to our birth workers so they can continue to move forward in their careers and provide the best support possible to our youth.
- $25 The average cost for a book on the required reading list for many training and certification programs
- $60 The cost for travel, parking, and meals for 1 doula assisted birth
- $75 A doula birth kit including pain management and comfort tools
- $199 Teaching supplies and materials for new parent education classes
- $150 Lactation education training and certification
- $350 Newborn care training
- $375 Postpartum mood disorders training and certification
- $400 2-week stipend for postpartum support
- $1000 Labor or Postpartum Doula training and certification
Our youth are constantly in need of resources and tools…
There is a constant need to help equip our youth with the educational resources and tools they need to have a positive birth experience and support them during the postpartum period. Here are a few recommendations on how your donations will support our youth.
- $25 Transportation costs for doctor's appointments
- $25 New parent education class taught by Sunnyside Up educators
- $50 Diaper bag with newborn care supplies
- $50 A week's supply of diapers and wipes
- $100 A week's worth of groceries for youth experiencing domestic hardships
- $250 10 hours of lactation support
- $400 A week's worth of postpartum support
- $500 A stroller, car seat, and crib bundle for a new mom

Where your contribution goes
We use the funds you donate to support our education and support services, which are aimed at ensuring that every young family has the opportunity to thrive with their new child.
Funding helps provide services such as:
- Labor, breastfeeding, postpartum, and mental health support
- Free classes for parents who are learning how to raise happy, healthy babies
- Online education for families who need extra help and guidance
- Adult programs including SAT prep and other resources to help families prepare for learning and and further their career
