The story behind the mission

In May 2017, our founder met a 15-year-old pregnant teen named Kayla outside the local health department in Nashville, Tennessee. Being the caring and inquisitive person, our founder decided to strike up a conversation with the young lady to get to know her and understand her circumstances of being at the health department that day. After an hour-long conversation, Kayla shared that she had recently taken a bus from her hometown to escape the toxic environment she was in. Our founder invented the next five months into providing help and resources to help her gain some stability and prepare her to become a mother. Kayla allowed our founder to give her education, advice, access to local resources, and help with prenatal care. She provided support during pregnancy, during labor, and during the postpartum period for Kayla.​

Kayla is now a freshman at a historically black college majoring in nursing as she provides unconditional love and care to her happy and kind-hearted 4-year-old daughter, Mariah. Our founder enjoys her monthly calls with Kayla and Mariah as they vowed to keep in touch.

Supporting Kayla during some of her most challenging days led our founder to further her career in pregnancy support. She now works as a labor and postpartum doula as well as a lactation counselor and new parent educator. She continues to broaden her scope of practice by seeking additional certifications in childbirth education and community health.

Our mission is simple…to provide pregnancy support and education to youth ages 13 to 21 by providing physical and emotional support and evidence-based education.
